The McCartney clan gathered to celebrate Christmas at Sir Paul's country estate in Peasmarsh, East Sussex. Sir Paul arrived on Friday and was soon joined by his daughter Beatrice and her nanny. On Christmas Eve, Sir Paul's other children James and daughters Stella, Mary, and Heather arrived with their partners and children along with his brother Mike and his family. They all enjoyed a vegetarian sit-down lunch together reminiscent of the holiday festivities the family used to celebrate together when Linda was alive. According to a McCartney aide:
"The staff are overjoyed. It is like the good old days."
