Sir Paul, accompanied by "a posse of private security men" is in New Delhi to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela, the world's largest religious gathering. The 42-day festival being held in the northern town of Allahabad is expected to draw up to 30 million pilgrims seeking to wash away their sins at this place where the hoy Ganges and Yamuna rivers converge. It may well be the largest public gathering in history.
