Today the planning chiefs at Kensington and Chelsea are expected to grant Stella McCartney permission to demolish a derelict church and build her headquarters in its place (see May 7).
Planning director Mike French has recommended that the councilors approve Stella's plan which he describes as a "welcome regeneration of the disused site". Mr. French stated that although the church is "architecturally unique in the street", it is not considered of "particular merit", its demolition should not be blocked on "aesthetic grounds".
