It was reported today that Sir Paul's daughter, Mary, was the victim of a recent brutal mugging in Maida Vale, West London. She was attacked from behind by two thieves as she was packing the boot (trunk) of her blue Mercedes. The robbers covered her mouth and ripped off her diamond earrings, watch and engagement ring. Following the attack, Mary was taken taken battered and bruised to the hospital to be certain that no harm had come to her unborn baby. According to a friend:"Mary never dresses in flash clothes or expensive jewelry. She likes the fact that she can walk around unrecognized. She has always avoided the public eye, unlike her sister Stella who is a regular face on the celebrity circuit."These weren't first-time thieves. They knew what they were doing. They were on her like a flash when she left work, grabbing her from behind. It only lasted seconds but seemed like a lifetime. The McCartney family are all terribly shocked.
"Her concern was for the safety of her child although she was devastated at losing her engagement ring. It was a planned operation. The muggers were in hiding, waiting ready for Mary to arrive. Paul was gravely concerned about her and the baby."
