2003-Jul-26: A Visit to Bowness-on-Windermere

Citizens and tourists in Bowness-on-Windermere were thrilled and amazed to find Sir Paul and Heather shopping and sightseeing in the busy Lake District town.  The couple arrived in their E-type Jaguar outside the Royal Hotel and asked general manager, Miaria Walker, if they could park their car outside the hotel. Stunned, she replied, "Please    leave it there as long as you like."  When Sir Paul returned for his car, he posed for pictures with Ms. Walker.

This was not the couple's first visit to the Lake District.  You may recall that Sir Paul proposed to Heather during a visit to the Keswick and Ullswater area.
