The wildly popular Brazilian soap opera series Celebridades (Celebrities) is negotiating with McCartney agents in an attempt to have Sir Paul appear on the show. Rod Stewart is also considering the offer. The program, written by top Brazilian soap writer Gilberto Braga, features Brazilian actress Malu Mader as a concert promoter and revolves around the ups and downs of showbiz. According to a Globo official:
"It might seem like an odd move but the soap is huge in Brazil. They would take part as themselves in episodes set in Europe. Appearing on it is a great way to promote yourself."
