(Corrected October 25) The supersonic passenger era ends tomorrow when British Airways Concorde flight BA002 lands at London's Heathrow Airport at 4:00 p.m. London time. It was earlier reported that Sir Paul would be on the passenger list of this final historic New York to London flight, however today's London Times is now reporting that Sir Paul turned down the British Airways' invitation.
Stories of Sir Paul's frequent flights on the Concorde appeared in nearly every article published this week about the aircraft. In one, a Concorde pilot recalled:
Untitled Document"But my most memorable trip was when Sir Paul McCartney came into the cockpit to sing Happy Birthday to an 80-year-old woman. She later told me it was the best moment of her life."
