Sir Paul has been ordered to tear down a log cabin on his estate in southern England. The Rother District Council said its planning committee refused to give Sir Paul planning permission for the cabin which was built on the grounds of his Woodlands Farm in Peasemarsh, about 70 miles southeast of London. Sir Paul's statement to the council explained that the cabin provided "privacy, seclusion and security" away from the farm buildings and machinery and a public footpath that passed near the farmhouse. At the council's December meeting, however, the planning committee ruled that the building "harms the intrinsic landscape quality and character" of the area.
The council has given Sir Paul six months to appeal.
