In a video message from London, Sir Paul and Heather have made a desperate last minute appeal to stop Canada's controversial seal hunt. The McCartneys are supporting a license buyback program in which hunters would be compensated by the government . The Canadian government turn would be freed from further global criticism. In the video, Sir Paul states:
"This is a win-win solution. Fishermen would be compensated for any lost revenue when the hunt is closed and Canada would have a graceful way to put an end to a cruel and needless practice."
