Despite Heather's insistence that their marriage is secure (see May 7 ) those who have seen Sir Paul during his solo trip to the village of Beaulieu Sur Mer, near Monaco in the south of France say that his face is marked with sadness. One man reports that he saw Sir Paul looking downcast as he drank alone in a bar:
"Macca looked very pensive. He spent ages on his mobile in a long and involved call. He didn't look very happy. After his lager he had another long call and then walked back to his hotel."Sir Paul is in France for a business meeting with the distributors of his video. He is traveling alone without an adviser, PA or assistant with him for the trip. According to one source:
"It's very unusual for him to travel or work alone. There's a strong feeling he needs time on his own. Nobody's sure it's all over but Paul doesn't look like a happy man who is comfortable with his private life."
