The British press reports today that it was thought that Sir Paul would be reunited with Heather when he returned to Britain from France. However, after arriving in London Friday evening, he departed by helicopter to Lydd airport in Kent on Saturday morning, where he was scheduled to catch a private jet to New York. Sir Paul told friends he was planning a trip to New York to see his lawyers, but then changed his mind in the hope he and Heather could sort out their differences. He then scheduled a meeting with Heather in London for "crisis talks" to try to save their marriage. Heather, however, changed her mind and remained in Hove with her sister.
According to Sir Paul's spokesman:
"I don't think they are with each other. I know he is back in the UK but whether they are together now or whether they have seen each other I don't know...I don't think they are. No one is saying anything and I am finding it pretty difficult to get any information. They could be together but they could not be."
