It was announced today that Tony Bennett: Duets / An American Classic will be released on September 26 (see February 21). On this special birthday album, Sir Paul joins Tony Bennett in their duet of the tune The Very Thought of You. Among the other artists singing duets with Tony Bennett on this album are Bono, Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, the Dixie Chicks, Elvis Costello, Billy Joel, Elton John, Diana Krall, Sting, George Michael, k.d. lang, James Taylor, Tim McGraw, John Legend, Juanes and Michael Buble. In a statement released today, Mr. Bennett said:
"Each duet artist brought their own soul and sensibility to their song performance and it was a wonderful gift for my birthday to be able to record with these talented musicians."
