Some good news for the McCartney clan. Stella McCartney is expecting her second child early next year. Sir Paul is telling friends:
"I'm absolutely thrilled. It's great to have something to celebrate at last. Stella's made up and we can't wait for the birth. It will make next year very special."
Stella's friends say:
"She couldn't wait to tell her dad. After everything he's been through recently, she knew it would really cheer him up. She's been talking to him a lot since his marriage broke down - they've grown closer than ever."
This will make Sir Paul a grandfather for the fourth time. Stella and her husband Alasdhair Willis have a 17-month-old son, Miller. Sir Paul's daughter Mary has two sons, 7-year-old Arthur and 3-year-old Elliot.
Another source revealed:
"Paul has been very down over the past few months but has told Stella he is smiling again be cause of the baby. It is killing Stella to see what her dad is going through but she is pleased that she's helped cheer him up. She and Alasdhair have been keeping the baby news quiet so as not to attract yet more attention to the family."
