The New York Post is reporting that Starbucks is planning to launch their own record label and that Sir Paul McCartney's new album will be its first release. In recent years, Starbucks has been more successful than traditional record stores in selling CDs in their coffee shops, so they have decided that it would be more profitable for them to sign, record, and produce their own artists rather than to license songs from other recording labels.
