The trio ruled out a live-performance reunion but they did record two new songs with Lennon, using tapes provided by his widow Yoko Ono. Details of the much-heralded reunion were given in the magazine Studio Sound on Sunday which revealed that for the session producer george Martin replaced the £500,000 worth of modern equipment with a 1970s mixing desk.
