It will be a hot dance with the volcano - figuratively naturally. On
September 11 they will go up to the Royal Albert Hall for a benefit
concert for the victims of a natural catastrophe - a volcano eruption
which devastated the Caribbean island of Montserrat. Elton John, Eric
Clapton, Paul McCartney, Sting and Mark Knopfler have already agreed
to perform. The organizer is none other than ex-Beatles producer
George Martin. The producer had a home in Montserrat.

Der "Pilzkopf" spielte einen Teil
auf dem Keyboard, und der Computer
druckte die Musik in eine Partitur
für die Streicher aus, so "Daily
Telegraph". Insgesamt 300 Musiker
werden die Komposition am 14.10 in
der Londoner Royal Albert Hall auf-
führen (Platte: 29.9.).

Now it is out: Sir Paul McCartney - like star tenor Pavarotti -
cannot read a note! That is why he composed his first symphony
"Standing Stone" for the 100th birthday of the EMI recording company
with the help of a computer. The "moptop" played the melody on the
keyboard and the computer transcribed it into a score for the
orchestra, according to the "Daily Telegraph". A total of 300
musicians will perform the composition on October 14 in London's Royal
Albert Hall. (Recording released 9/29).

NEUES ALBUM VON PAUL McCARTNEY
Unter dem Titel "Flaming Pie"
ist am Montag das neue
Solo-Album von Paul McCartney
erschienen. Für den Ex-Beatle
eine besondere Platte: Obwohl
er bereits 1970 sein erstes
Solo-Album veröffentlichte,
ist "Flaming Pie" seine erste
Veröffentlichung, seit er von
der britischen Queen zum "Sir"
ernannt wurde.
Das Album ist seiner Frau
Linda gewidmet, die gerade
ihren Krebs besiegen konnte.
Mit Ringo Starr wirkte ein
Ex-Kollege als Gastmusiker
mit. Auch der Albumtitel
erinnet an einen früheren
Beatle: "Flaming Pie" ist auch
der Titel einer Kurzgeschichte
von John Lennon.
Im Rahmen des "Paul McCartney
Town Hall Specials" wird Sir
Paul das Album am 17. Mai
einer breiten Öffentlichkeit
präsentieren. Außerdem wird er
einem weltweiten Publikum via
Fax und Internet Fragen
beantworten. VH-1 wird den
Event am kommenden Samstag um
19 Uhr live aus London
übertragen.

The new Paul McCartney solo album was released on Monday under the
title "Flaming Pie". This is a special album for the ex-Beatle. Even
though he published his first solo album in 1970, "Flaming Pie" is his
first publication since the British Queen awarded him the title "Sir".
This album is dedicated to his wife Linda who is recovering from
cancer. Ex-colleague Ringo Starr worked with him as a guest musician.
The album title is also a reminder of a former Beatle - "Flaming Pie"
is also the title of a short story by John Lennon.
Within the framework of the "Paul McCartney Town Hall Special" on May
17, Sir Paul will present this album to a wide public. In addition,
he will be answering questions from a worldwide audience via fax and
the Internet. VH-1 will broadcast the event live from London this coming
Saturday at 19:00.

Peter Howarth, 33, is a technician living in London. He has a famous
father whom he has never met - Paul McCartney. It happened in
Liverpool in the Spring of '63. Seventeen-year-old Anita Cochrane
followed her idols, the Beatles, everywhere. It happened when she and
Paul met each other. Anita was compensated with 30,000 DM and
has not admitted to her son who his father is. He has found out,
nevertheless, but doesn't want to have anything to do with
