TV series "Gun" director Robert Altman has asked Bono & Co. to go
into the studio to bring back a new version of the Beatle's classic
"Happiness Is A Warm Gun".

Usually Beatle fans are not particularly happy about the fact that
Michael Jackson, of all people, owns the rights to most of the Fab
Four songs. Now, however, they are grateful that Jacko is

"It sounds like a Fugees version of the song and it's very good", said
a spokesman for the Trinidad band, New Creation about a second attempt
with the Lennon classic. But MJ resisted remaining faithful to the
absolute, original version.

A birth certificate for 142,000 DM, an ordinary guitar for
27,000 DM and a bass for a mere 340,000 DM - at the auction
of Beatles souvenirs in Tokyo, fans were bidding in a
frenzy. So the stage suit of John Lennon went for 60,000DM,
his son Julian auctioned a cape for 46,000 DM.
Too expensive was only Lennon's Mercedes. It was intended

Mit einem gerichtlichen Entscheid hat
Paul McCartney die Versteigerung des
Originalmanuskripts von "Penny Lane"
verhindert. Das Blatt sollte am Samstag
für 50'000 Pfund auf einer Versteige-
rung angeboten werden,die das Auktions-
haus Bohams in London veranstaltete.
McCartny ließ mitteilen, auf seinen
Antrag hin habe das Oberste Gericht in
London entschieden, daß der jetzige
Besitzer des Manuskripts nicht das
Recht habe, es zu verkaufen.
Bei der Auktion wurden u. a. das Ge-
burtshaus von Ringo Starr in Liverpool,
Erinnerungsstücke aus dem Fundus des
Beatles-Managers Brian Epstein und die
Limousine von John Lennon angeboten.

"Penny Lane" will not be allowed to be sold. Through a court order, Paul
McCartney prevented the auction of the original handwritten manuscript of
"Penny Lane". The paper would have been sold at auction on Saturday for
50,000 pounds according to a bid received by the Bohams auction house in
London.
McCartney obtained a London court order barring the sale. In his
petition he contended that the seller was not the rightful owner and thus
didn't have the legal rights to sell the manuscript.
Among other things offered at the auction were the birthplace of Ringo
Starr in Liverpool, some memorabilia from the collection of Beatles'
manager Brian Epstein, and the limousine of John Lennon.

catalog.

removed from bidding by the Bonhams auction house when
they were discovered not to be authentic items.

ins Finale des John Lennon
Förderpreises schaffen.
Sceptic Acceptance aus Mel-
dorf beeindruckten Jury und
Publikum mit einem wilden
Crossover-Gemisch aus Rap
und Rock. Doch auch die an-
deren Bands, die es bis zur
Vorentscheidung im Stavenha-
gerner Tankhaus geschafft
hatten, gehen nicht leer
aus.

Cheering in the dead of night, the jury spoke the last
word. Five bands, to the point of total exhaustion, had
gotten everything they could out of themselves and their
instruments. Unfortunately only one act can make its way
to the finals of the John Lennon Talent Contest.
Sceptic Acceptance from Meldorf impressed the
jury and the audience with their wild cross-over mix of
Rap and Rock. But the other bands also, who made it to the preliminary
decision at the Stavenhagerner "Tankhaus" won't leave with empty hands.

take place in Tokyo, Japan in March.
Items up for sale include Paul
McCartney's birth certificate and his
hand written lyrics for the song
"Penny Lane".
The auction is expected to to fetch
more than $2m and if you are interested
in bidding, then Bonhams auction house
will be accepting bids by telephone,
fax or via the Internet to the auction
room in Tokyo.

In the 70's the club was sold to make way for a parking lot. In the

Chapman Threatens Beatles
We strongly hope that John Lennon's murderer, Mark Chapman will be
locked up for good. The 41 year-old has threatened to murder the
other three Beatles and Yoko Ono as soon as he is released from
prison. The psycho is convinced that the four have conspired to keep
him behind bars. Chapman told a former cellmate how he had heard voices
before the 1980 crime. In prison he had "FFYRN" tattooed on himself:
"Fab Four You Are Next"...
